Property Description

AUCTION: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026 AT 10:00 AM - PREVIEW BEGINS AT 9:00 AM. The Town of Barnet is offering the former Barnet Town Clerk's Office at public auction. There is no minimum opening bid, and the Town of Barnet reserves the right to one bid. Proof of funds is required to receive a bid number, and the winning bidder will be required to provide a $15,000 deposit. Step inside a piece of Barnet history with this former Town Clerk's Office, an 1880s building filled with character and possibilities. Details including a handsome staircase, wainscoting, beadboard, and a secure vault offer reminders of the building's longtime municipal use while lending plenty of personality to the space. The main level includes a welcoming entry, office space, bathroom, and conference room. Upstairs, a spacious open room with painted beadboard walls and ceiling offers flexible space for meetings, collaborative work, a studio, or other creative uses. Ample paved parking adds convenience, while the Route 5 location provides excellent visibility and easy access to I-91. Barnet is known for its rolling farmland, strong sense of community, and nearby recreation at Harvey's Lake and along the Connecticut River. A unique opportunity to purchase a distinctive Vermont property and imagine what comes next.
